About B.Ed. Department

The Bachelor of Education, generally known as B.Ed., is a professional course that prepares teachers for upper primary or middle level, secondary level and senior secondary level.

Department of Education of Bokaro Steel City College, Bokaro was given affiliation in the year 2005 and the academic session was started in 2006.

Aim & Objectives

To prepare committed teachers for schools of the state of Jharkhand and the country.
To prepare wellequipped highly skilled teachers to teach at Secondary and Senior Secondary stage in schools.
To offer an all round training i.e. mental, physical, cultural, social, moral and spiritual.
To prepare good professionals in the field of education.
To develop leadership quality among students and prepare them to take initiative and risk.

Eligibilty for Admission

Academic

Science, Commerce and Arts Graduates and Post-Graduates.
As per NCTE norms , a candidate should have secured at least 50 % marks in aggregate at Degree examination of a recognized University.
Candidates with at least 50 % marks either in the Bachelor 's Degree and / or in the Master Bachelor b ) De greei cial Science/Humanities, Bachelor's in Engineering or Technology with specialization in ce and Mathematics with 55 % or any other qualification equivalent thereto , are eligible for admission to the programme.
Reservation and relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PWD and other categories shall be as per the rules of Jharkhand Government.

Please Note :

Candidates of the following Categories will not be considered for admission:

Candidates who have appeared for the University examination and are awaiting results.
Candidates who have received the marks from the cross-list only.
Candidates who have already been enrolled for other course viz.-Computer Science, Managemert Training Programme or any Post Graduate Studies.

Duration of the course

B.Ed. course being offered by the university is a two year programme, split into four semesters. In all, there would be (1) four week internship-in-teaching in the 2^nd semester and (2) sixteen week internship-in-teaching in 3^rd semester of the course. The emphasis has been to make the programme more participative and interactive.

Intake

100 students will be admitted in each academic year in every college. There shall be reservation of seats for SC/ST/OBC/PC Candidates, strictly in accordance with the rules of the Jharkhand Government. The admission policy will be decided and amended by the University as and when it is required.

Three copies of recent stamp size photograph (same as pasted in the application form)
Mark-sheets from matriculation to the last acquired degree.
Matriculation Certificate.
NCC/Sports/Physically Challenged Certificate, if any;
Residential Certificate
Aadhaar Card
Residential certificate issued by the S.D.O. (online)
